Cash investments are structured as equity interests (shares) or debt (notes or bonds) secured by real property. In some cases, tangible assets such as land and livestock may be contributed directly in exchange for shares or debt. In addition, employees who demonstrate proven ability to add value to assets under their stewardship can earn options and acquire interests in the company.
